In early 2019, I embarked on an amazing adventure with theatre company Justice In Motion, ON EDGE, a physical theatre production mixing parkour and theatre. We toured the Uk in the summer of 2019 and are now back working to fine-tune it for 2020.
ON EDGE really is a breath-taking, visually stunning and highly engaging piece, that dynamically blends theatre and parkour in exciting and inspiring new ways. In ON EDGE we explore issues of modern slavery within the construction industry.
Our international collaborators include the Inspire Parkour Community, acclaimed Polish director Pawel Szkotak from Teatr Biuro Podrózy, Chris Evans from Gecko Theatre, and a cast of leading international parkour athletes and physical theatre performers.
Together we are not only working on a piece of physical theatre, but also a much wider concept which will tour the UK and Europe as 'THE FREEDOM TOUR'. Throughout the day a parkour park will be available for local communities to play on, alongside and very similar to the scaffolding structure that is the theatre stage for ON EDGE.
